The 27th Bayreuth 3D Design Engineer Conference offers professionals in design, development, and simulation the opportunity to exchange ideas on the latest technologies, methods, and best practices. How can development processes be made more efficient? What role do integrated CAD and simulation workflows play in product development? And how can optimization methods lead to better products even in the early stages of development?

The 27th Bayreuth 3D Design Engineer Conference on September 16, 2026, will provide answers to these and many other questions. Organized by the Chair of Design Engineering and CAD at the University of Bayreuth under the direction of Professor Dr.-Ing. Stephan Tremmel, the event has for many years been one of the most important independent platforms for design engineers, developers, and simulation engineers from industry and research.

The focus is on current developments in the following areas:

  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
  • Simulation and Virtual Product Development (CAE)
  • Optimization Methods
  • Additive Manufacturing
  • End-to-End Engineering and MODSIM Workflows

K-Day combines scientific insights with practical application examples and offers an opportunity to exchange ideas on current methods, software solutions, and best practices.

Our Technical Presentation

systemworkx will once again be presenting a technical talk this year:

Parametric Fatigue Optimization of Bicycle Components with MODSIM Workflows
Speaker: Aniket Badgujar, systemworkx

Using a bicycle component as an example, this presentation demonstrates how parametric modeling, finite element simulation, and optimization methods can be combined in an end-to-end MODSIM workflow. The focus is on reproducible development processes, shorter iteration cycles, and a well-founded design with regard to fatigue strength.

Discussion with our experts

Be sure to visit us at our booth. We’d be happy to discuss current challenges in product development with you—from integrated CAD/CAE processes to simulation and virtual product validation, and the possibilities offered by modern MODSIM workflows.

Aniket Badgujar (Pre-Sales & Simulation Consultant) and Martin Nachtigall (Head of Sales for PLM & Information Security) will be on hand to discuss technical matters with you. Whether you have specific questions about your day-to-day development work or would like to share experiences regarding modern engineering methods—we look forward to engaging in interesting discussions in Bayreuth.
